Google Introduces Advanced AI Features in Ads and Analytics
Google is rolling out a suite of new artificial intelligence tools across Google Ads and Google Analytics, aiming to streamline marketing workflows and accelerate business growth. These updates are designed to help marketers uncover insights, act faster, and make more informed decisions without being overwhelmed by data complexity.
AI Summaries and Instant Insights
One of the key enhancements is the introduction of AI-powered summaries on the homepages of both platforms. These summaries instantly highlight significant performance shifts and data trends, allowing analyst teams to spot opportunities and issues as they arise. For example, Google Analytics now features AI Overviews at the top of the homepage, providing immediate context on important updates such as seasonal sales peaks or changes in website traffic.
With a single click, users can transfer the context of a data card directly into Ask Advisor, Google’s in-product AI agent, for deeper analysis. Notifications for these summaries can be customized by frequency and delivered via phone or email, ensuring marketers stay informed at their own pace.
Personalized Insights and Custom Reports
The Google Ads homepage has also been revamped to display AI-powered insights cards tailored to each business. Marketers can use a prompt box above these cards to generate custom insights, such as understanding competitor impact on impression share or identifying trends that could improve campaign performance.
Reporting has been made more intuitive with the introduction of new Dashboards in Google Ads (and soon in Google Analytics). These dashboards allow users to create clear visualizations from raw data using simple text prompts. Each report automatically includes a real-time summary explaining the underlying reasons for the data trends, making it easier to evaluate performance or justify new campaign strategies.
Benchmarking Against Industry Peers
Google Analytics now offers a benchmarking feature through Ask Advisor, enabling users to compare their campaign performance against anonymized averages from similar businesses. This helps marketers identify areas for improvement and refine their strategies with greater confidence.
Kevin Marshall, Paid Media Director at Gardyn, noted, "Ask Advisor has become my go-to for a directional check on paid media performance… That speed matters because it gives me time to dig deeper and make shifts that improve performance sooner."
Powered by Gemini and Available Now
These new features are built with Gemini and are currently available in beta for English language accounts. Marketers can start leveraging these AI-driven tools in Google Ads and Google Analytics to move from insight to action more efficiently than ever before.
